Where the Wild Things Are First Birthday

Ever since my first son was born, I dreamed of doing some sort of “Where the Wild Things Are” themed birthday party. (I secretly love themed birthdays- even if they are a little stressful.) I didn’t get that chance with him, but I finally got to do it for our third born. It was a lot of fun and we are so very thankful for the people who make up our chosen family because they helped make his birthday a memorable one

It is hard to believe that our youngest is now considered a toddler. Since the beginning,  EVERYTHING has had a sense of excitement with him. As tired as we are, we hope it doesn’t stop. We love watching him interact with his older siblings and we love seeing his happy and curious personality shine through.

This only made the theme for his birthday more fitting. He is a “Wild One” in our eyes.

As nice as it would have been to go all out, it was even better having small elements that still tied the entire theme together. I had a blast making everything and everyone seemed to enjoy it all!

I wish  we had taken more pictures, but we were all having too much fun surrounded by loved ones and taking in our lake view. After we indulged in hot dogs, lemonade, cake and cupcakes, we all took to the lake for the rest of the day and swam until we could swim no more!

We can’t wait for the next birthday party to do it all over again! I mean, 19 days isn’t that far off into the future! Hooray for summer birthdays!
